PERSONAL: Jeff Harold Smith...wife, Ronna...sons, Cooper and Cutter...makes off-season home in Naples, FL...1992 graduate of Naples (FL) High School...attended Stetson University from 1993-95.

COACHING CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: 2018 marks his 14th season coaching or managing at the professional level and second in the major leagues...hired as Twins first base coach December 21, 2016; also oversees catching instruction and baserunning...named FSL Manager of the Year in 2009 leading the Miracle to a record of 80-58.

PLAYING CAREER: Played nine seasons in the Twins (1996-2002), Texas (2003-04) and Boston (2003) organizations...played 503 career minor league games at catcher, 14 at first base and two in the outfield...hit .282 (600-for-2130) with 115 doubles, three triples, 44 home runs, 285 RBI and 242 runs scored in 658 career minor league games...playing career ended prior to 2005 season after a major left knee injury.

PROFESSIONAL: Selected by Minnesota in 20th round of 1994 First-Year Player Draft.
