PERSONAL: William Joseph Evers...wife, Patricia...daughter, Kelly...son, William...1976 graduate of Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, receiving a management and recreation degree. 

COACHING CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: 2019 will mark 44th season coaching at some capacity in professional baseball and third at the major league level...among additional duties, also assists Baldelli in catching instruction...he was the bench coach under Joe Maddon from 2006-07, the same time that Baldelli was an outfielder for the Devil Rays...spent 23 seasons in Tampa Bay's organization; was manager at Triple-A Durham as part of the Devil Rays' inaugural season in 1998...led Durham to the Governor's Cup Championship in 2002 and 2003...won five minor league championships: International League (2002 and '03), Florida State League (1997), and Texas League (1990 and '91)...other than Tampa Bay, also worked in the minor league systems of Chicago-NL (1980), New York-AL (1981-85, 93-95) and San Francisco (1986-92). 

PLAYING CAREER: Former catcher in the Chicago-NL organization from 1976- 79, hitting .251 (200-for-798) with 35 doubles, four triples, 11 home runs and 147 RBI; walked 161 times and struck out just 113 times in 274 minor league games...originally drafted by Chicago-NL in the sixth round of the 1976 First- Year Player Draft...also drafted by Montreal in 1975 and Cleveland in 1976.
