MINNEAPOLIS -- The Twins announced Friday they signed second-round Draft pick Madison Boer, a right-hander from the University of Oregon.
Boer, a local product from Eden Prairie who was taken 87th overall in the Draft, is the club's highest pick to sign so far. A 6-foot-4, 215-pound right-hander, Boer posted a 2.27 ERA in 18 games with 74 strikeouts in 99 innings as a junior this year with Oregon.
Boer becomes the 16th player signed by the Twins from this year's First-Year Player Draft. Others signed include fifth-rounder Tyler Grimes, shortstop from Wichita State, and seventh-rounder Steven Gruver, a left-hander from Tennessee.
