MINNEAPOLIS -- Jason Kubel played in his first rehab game Tuesday night with Class A Fort Myers, going 0-for-2 with three walks while serving as designated hitter.

Kubel, on the disabled list retroactive to May 31 with a sprained left foot, is scheduled to play in the outfield on Wednesday and Thursday before heading to Double-A New Britain, where he'll play three more games, including two in the outfield.

Right-hander Kevin Slowey (abdomen strain) is also slated to pitch three-to-four innings with Class A Fort Myers on Wednesday, before starting with Triple-A Rochester on Monday.

Justin Morneau is also scheduled to have surgery on his neck on Wednesday to remove a herniated disk fragment and a pinched nerve.

Denard Span, who suffered a concussion in a home-plate collision on June 3, took batting practice indoors at Target Field on Tuesday, but isn't quite ready to hit outdoors.
