New spring attendance mark set

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The Twins set a new single-season Spring Training average attendance record this year, the club announced Friday.

Minnesota concluded its Grapefruit League home schedule Friday, and over the 16 home dates, the Twins averaged 7,808 per game. That figure bested the previous average attendance mark of 7,620, set last season.

The club sold out 14 of its 16 contests at Hammond Stadium this spring. The total attendance figure for the spring was 124,934.
