Twins get Turpen to complete Slowey deal

The Twins have acquired right-hander Daniel Turpen from the Rockies as the player to be named later in the Kevin Slowey trade, the club announced Thursday.

Slowey was traded to the Rockies on Tuesday. He was 0-8 with a 6.67 ERA for the Twins in 2011.

Turpen, 25, went 2-4 with 11 saves and a 4.83 ERA in 48 appearances (one start) at Double-A Tulsa in 2011. He also walked 35 with 33 strikeouts. He has a career record of 18-16 with a 3.25 ERA in 204 appearances.

Turpen will be assigned to Triple-A Rochester.
