Gardenhire ejected in eighth inning

MILWAUKEE -- Twins manager Ron Gardenhire was ejected in the eighth inning of Sunday's game against the Brewers after arguing with home-plate umpire Brian Runge about a called strikeout.

With the Twins trailing, 3-2, Brendan Harris led off the eighth by striking out on a called third strike. Harris tried to call timeout on the play, and even stepped out of the batter's box to adjust his batting helmet. But Brewers relief pitcher Guillermo Mota threw the pitch anyway, and Runge rung up Harris.

Harris was quite upset on the play and started to get into a heated discussion with Runge. Gardenhire ran out of the visitors' dugout, got into an argument of his own with Runge and then was tossed. It was Gardenhire's second ejection of the season.
