Twins Recall Outfielder Matt Carson


Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have recalled outfielder Matt Carson from Triple-A Rochester.  Carson appeared in five games with the Twins earlier this month hitting .381 (8-for-21) with a double and an rbi before being optioned to Rochester on August 23.  While with the Red Wings this season, Carson appeared in 115 games hitting .282 (119-for-442) with 28 doubles, two triples, 14 home runs, 53 rbi and 64 runs scored.  

Carson was acquired by the Twins in November, signing as a minor league free agent.  Prior to this season he had played 46 Major League games, batting .200 (20-for-100) with five home runs and 14 rbi for the Oakland Athletics in 2009 and 2010.
