NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Baseball's annual Winter Meetings get under way on Monday, and you can count on twinsbaseball.com to keep you up to date on all Twins news throughout the week.

General managers, managers, front-office staff, agents and the media have all descended upon the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center for the Winter Meetings, which run through Thursday. It's sure to be a busy week for all involved, as the annual event features various industry meetings and luncheons, as well as Thursday's Rule 5 Draft.

But, as most fans surely know, it's also a place for general managers to meet with each other and with agents regarding trades and free-agent signings.

The Twins acquired some pitching help on Thursday, when they dealt center fielder Denard Span to the Nationals for Minor League right-hander Alex Meyer. But the club is on the lookout for more Major League-ready pitching, after its starters finished with the second-worst ERA in baseball this past season.

To the end, we'll have you covered here at twinsbaseball.com regarding any relevant rumors, signings or trades. There will be stories on the main site, while there will also be plenty of updates via the blog, Bollinger Beat, and Twitter @RhettBollinger.

General manager Terry Ryan will speak with the media at the conclusion of each day, and there will be a nightly recap on the site about all of the Twins' happenings. In addition, Twins manager Ron Gardenhire is set to meet with the media on Tuesday during his availability at 4 p.m. CT.

The Twins also figure to be active players in the Rule 5 Draft on Thursday, considering they have the No. 4 pick. Last year, the Twins selected right-hander Terry Doyle from the White Sox, but ultimately sent him back to Chicago during Spring Training. The club has had success with the Rule 5 Draft in the past -- it's how the Twins acquired pitchers Johan Santana and Scott Diamond.

There are also plenty of questions that need to be resolved about a Twins team that has lost 90-plus games each of the last two seasons.

So, Twins fans, be sure to keep that dialogue running here in the comments section on the site, as there's always something to discuss during the Winter Meetings.
