Arcia, Mastroianni not yet cleared for return

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Injured Twins outfielders Oswaldo Arcia and Darin Mastroianni have been ruled out for a return in the club's split-squad action on Thursday, manager Ron Gardenhire said Tuesday.

Arcia, who has yet to play in a Grapefruit League game because of a pulled intercostal muscle, took batting practice in the cages on Tuesday but still isn't quite ready to return.

And Mastroianni, who is dealing with a sore left hamstring that he tweaked last week, is expected to be out a few more days.

"It's still later this week," Gardenhire said. "Neither one of them are going to be ready to play on Thursday in the split-squad. So I guess we'll see where we're at Friday or Saturday. But you just don't know. But both are feeling better for sure."
