Marlins-Twins postponed; teams to play two Tuesday

Correia to pitch Game 1, Pelfrey will be on mound for nightcap at Target Field

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Twins' scheduled game with the Marlins on Monday night at Target Field was postponed due to inclement weather, and the game will be made up as part of a split doubleheader on Tuesday.

Tuesday's originally scheduled game at 12:10 p.m. CT will be moved to 1:10 in order to allow the Target Field staff time to prepare the facility for the doubleheader. The gates open for Game 1 at noon and at 6 p.m. for Game 2.

Right-hander Kevin Correia, who was scheduled to start on Monday, will get the ball for the first game of the doubleheader, while right-hander Mike Pelfrey will be on the mound for Game 2.

It marks the third postponement of the year at Target Field, as the Twins saw their scheduled games postponed against the Mets on April 14 and against the Angels on Wednesday. The Twins also had their scheduled game against the White Sox in Chicago on Friday postponed due to weather and have played just four games dating to April 14.

Fans holding tickets to Monday's postponed game have two options. They can keep their tickets for admission into the rescheduled game on Tuesday or exchange their unused tickets for any future regular-season game in 2013. Unused tickets may be exchanged only at the Target Field ticket office located on Target Plaza off 7th Street. Tickets for the postponed game are not subject to refunds.
