MRI clean, Twins' Wood seeks second opinion

|

An MRI on Twins right-hander Tim Wood's shoulder came back clean Thursday, and the 30-year-old reliever will fly to Minneapolis to get a second opinion.

Wood, on the disabled list with a right rotator cuff strain since Spring Training, had been feeling discomfort in his biceps area unrelated to the rotator cuff injury that landed him on the DL.

Wood signed with the Twins this offseason and last pitched with the Pirates in 2011, posting a 5.63 ERA in 13 appearances.
