The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have selected the contract of right-handed pitcher P.J. Walters from Triple-A Rochester. Walters made nine starts for the Red Wings, going 4-2 with a 3.31 ERA (54.1 IP, 20 ER), 46 strikeouts, 16 walks and one complete game.

Additionally, outfielder Joe Benson was claimed off outright waivers by the Texas Rangers, making room for Walters on the Twins 40-man roster. Benson was drafted by the Twins in the second round of the 2006 First-Year Player Draft.
