Twins host Father's Day festivities at Target Field

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Twins held festivities for Father's Day on Sunday at Target Field, highlighted by Justin Morneau hosting 25 veterans and their children for a game of catch on the field before the game.

It was the final event of Hope Week, which featured 10 events that helped out several local charities with many of the events coming as a surprise to the recipients.

Sunday was also the final day of the Prostate Cancer Foundation Home Run Challenge. Starting on June 9, the Twins pledged $10,000 for every homer hit by a Twins player and $1,000 for every strikeout recorded by a Twins pitcher. Entering Sunday's game, the Twins had donated $54,000 to the Prostate Cancer Foundation

Twins right-hander P.J. Walters, who started on Sunday against the Tigers, pledged an additional $1,000 for every strikeout he recorded during the game.
