Twins place Caleb Thielbar on bereavement list

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN - The Minnesota Twins announced after tonight's game that they have placed left-handed pitcher Caleb Thielbar on the bereavement list to attend the funeral of his grandmother.

To replace Thielbar on the 25-man roster, the Twins will recall right-handed pitcher Michael Tonkin from Triple-A Rochester. Tonkin has split time between Double-A New Britain and Rochester. In 13 appearances with the Red Wings he was 1-0, 1.23 ERA (14.2 IP, 2 ER) with three walks, 16 strikeouts and five saves. Tonkin is expected to be in uniform for Thursday's game at Tampa Bay and will wear uniform number 59.
