Twins recall Tonkin from Triple-A


The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Michael Tonkin from Triple-A Rochester. Since being optioned back to Rochester in mid-July, Tonkin had appeared in 12 games, recording six saves, while posting a 3.95 ERA (13.2 IP, 6 ER) with opponents hitting .216 (11-for-51) with two walks and 14 strikeouts.

Tonkin appeared in one game for the Twins this season, pitching 1.1 scoreless innings of relief July 11 at Tampa Bay.
