"It's better," said Arcia, who was carefully monitored by team trainer Dave Pruemer and hitting coach Tom Brunansky. "When I tried to pull the ball, there is a little pain."
Arcia will continue to be evaluated, but said he expects to avoid the 15-day disabled list. But if he's deemed unready to play on Friday, he could still be placed on the DL because the Twins' bench is thin, as they're carrying 13 pitchers.
