Twins option Tonkin to Triple-A

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN - The Minnesota Twins announced after tonight's game that they have optioned right-handed pitcher Michael Tonkin to Triple-A Rochester. Tonkin made one appearance for the Twins in his recent recall, allowing three unearned runs in 1.0 inning pitched Wednesday night in Detroit.

To replace Tonkin on the Twins 25-man roster, the Twins will officially recall and activate Liam Hendriks in time for his start tomorrow night in Cleveland.
