MINNEAPOLIS -- The Twins honored those who lost their lives in the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2011, before Wednesday night's game against the A's.
Before the singing of the national anthem, the stadium observed a moment of silence to remember the victims on the 12th anniversary of the attacks.
Marine veteran Jesse Kurtz performed the ceremonial flag raising during the singing of the national anthem.
Kurtz was a Marine from 1970-73, seeing action in the Vietnam War. Kurtz resides in Stillwater, Minn., and is the manager of the Stillwater American Legion.
