MINNEAPOLIS -- Outfielder Oswaldo Arcia was a late scratch on Monday after bruising his right knee during batting practice.

Arcia, who was slated to start in left field and bat cleanup in the opener against the Tigers, hurt the knee when he ran into a wall.

Clete Thomas replaced Arcia in left field and batted seventh. Josh Willingham was moved up to bat cleanup.

Arcia, 22, is coming off a career-high six RBIs against the A's on Sunday, and is hitting .254/.308/.436 with 14 homers and 43 RBIs in 95 games.
