Twins place Plouffe on 15-day disabled list

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN - The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed third baseman Trevor Plouffe on the 15-day disabled list with inflammation between the ninth rib and the costal cartilage on his left side. He suffered the injury while diving for a ball in yesterday's game in Detroit.

To replace Plouffe on the 25-man roster, the Twins have recalled infielder Pedro Florimon from Triple-A Rochester. Florimon, who started the season with the Twins, is expected to be in uniform today in Detroit.
