Santana set to begin rehab assignment Monday

DENVER -- Shortstop Danny Santana (left knee deep bone bruise) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment Monday with Class A Advanced Fort Myers. The team is off Tuesday, so Santana will resume his rehab on Wednesday and Thursday. Barring a setback, Santana, who has been on the 15-day disabled list since June 27, will be activated Friday when the Twins resume play after the All-Star break.

Santana is scheduled to play five innings in center field Monday, seven innings at shortstop on Wednesday and nine innings in center field on Thursday. Santana has played 18 games and 15 starts in center field for the Twins this season and 18 games and 16 starts at shortstop.
