Twins at the plate: Minnesota put two runs on the board in the first inning, when Delmon Young singled home J.J. Hardy and Brendan Harris knocked in Jason Kubel. Orlando Hudson tripled to left-center in the fifth and scored on Hardy's ground-rule double, and Brock Peterson belted his second homer of the spring -- both against the Yankees -- in the sixth.
Yankees at the plate:
Alex Rodriguez belted his second home run of the spring over the right-field wall in the fourth inning, a solo shot. Juan Miranda homered to lead off the bottom of the eighth.
Twins on the mound:
Making his second start and fifth appearance of the spring, left-hander Brian Duensing completed five innings of one-run four-hit ball, walking none and striking out two.
Yankees on the mound:
Turning in his third start of the spring, right-hander Phil Hughes was charged with three runs on six hits in 4 2/3 innings, walking one and striking out five in an 88-pitch outing. Lefty Boone Logan relieved and struck out Kubel as he continues to state his case to make the Opening Day roster. David Robertson hurled the sixth, allowing a homer.
Twins outfielder Denard Span hit his mother, Wanda Wilson, in the chest with a foul ball in the top of the first inning. She was attended to by paramedics, but declined to go to a hospital, reporting that she was sore but remaining to watch the rest of the game from seats in the shade. Span remained in the game until the middle of the third inning. ... A-Rod fouled a ball off his left ankle during a second-inning at-bat and wore a shin guard when he returned to the plate to homer in the fourth inning.

The Twins are on the road on Thursday against the Red Sox in Fort Myers, Fla., sending right-hander Nick Blackburn to the mound to make the 12:05 p.m. CT start. Boston will counter with right-hander John Lackey in a game that will be shown on MLB.TV.
A.J. Burnett will make his final start of the exhibition slate on Thursday afternoon, when the Yankees oppose the Blue Jays at 1:05 ET on the familiar grounds at Dunedin Stadium in Dunedin, Fla. Toronto counters with left-hander Brian Tallet.
