Twins shut down Condrey's elbow rehab

MINNEAPOLIS -- Right-hander Clay Condrey, who is on the disabled list with a strained right elbow, suffered another setback when he tried to throw on Wednesday

Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said Condrey played catch and said he still feels something in his arm.

"I think he's a little flustered right now trying to figure out what's going on," Gardenhire said.

The plan now is for the Twins to shut Condrey down again and re-evaluate.

As for the other Twins reliever on the DL, Gardenhire said that Jose Mijares' left elbow is feeling much better. Mijares is scheduled to be re-evaluated Thursday. The pitcher won't travel with the team on its 10-day road trip, staying in Minnesota to rehab. But there is a chance the Twins could send Mijares out on a Minor League rehab assignment before his 15-day stint on the DL is up. Mijares is eligible to return on May 2.
