PERSONAL: Neil Patrick Allen...son, Bobby...attended Bishop Ward (KS) High School where he played baseball, basketball and football.

COACHING CAREER: 2016 marks his 35th season in professional baseball...named Twins pitching coach on November 25, 2014...in his first season with the Twins, the pitching staff had their lowest ERA since 2010...joined Tampa Bay organization on November 29, 2006 and spent four seasons in Durham (2011-14) after one season in Charlotte (2010) and three seasons (2007-09) as the pitching coach for Montgomery...named pitching coach for the SiriusXM Futures Game in 2013...spent the previous seven seasons in the New York-AL organization, including 2005 when he served as the major league club's bullpen coach...coached at Single-A Staten Island from 2000-02, winning the New York-Penn League championship in his final season there with a staff ERA of 2.57...joined Triple-A Columbus for the 2003, 04 and 06 seasons...coached in the Toronto system from 1996-99, making stops at Single-A St. Catharines (1996, 98-99) and Rookie Level Medicine Hat (1997)...made his coaching debut for Mobile of the independent Texas-Louisiana League in 1995.

PLAYING CAREER: Pitched 11 years in the majors for the New York-NL (1979-83), St. Louis (1983-85), New York-AL (1985, 1987-88), Chicago-AL (1986-87) and Cleveland (1989). PROFESSIONAL: Selected by New York-NL in the 11th round of the 1976 First-Year Player Draft.
