PERSONAL: Edward Adrian Guardado...nicknamed "Everyday Eddie" during playing days...wife, Lisa (Limbaugh)...sons, Niko (12/24/96) and Jakob (2/26/02), and daughter, Ava Rose (5/17/05)...1989 graduate of Franklin (CA) High School, where he played baseball and football...as a senior was all-area and Most Valuable Player of his league in baseball and MVP of the football team...attended San Joaquin Delta (CA) Junior College...brother Danny was an infielder at Lewis & Clark College...was the MVP of his Babe Ruth team in 1985 and American Legion team in 1989...hosts an annual Stars & Strikes celebrity bowling tournament near his home in southern California to benefit autistic children and their families.

COACHING CAREER: 2017 marks his third season as a major league coach, all as Twins bullpen coach after being hired to that role in November of 2014...spent time previously as special instructor at Twins spring training.

PLAYING CAREER: Played 17 seasons with Minnesota, Seattle, Cincinnati and Texas...inducted into Twins Hall of Fame in 2013...named one of "50 Greatest Twins" in 2010...played 12 seasons for Twins from 1993-2003 and again in 2008, going 37-48, 4.53 ERA (704.2 IP, 355 ER) in 648 career games, the most in club history...ranks fourth on Twins all-time list in saves (116)...Twins all-time leader in relief innings (579.0)...led AL in appearances (83) in 1996 and led AL in saves (45) in 2002...named to AL All-Star team in 2002 and '03...ranks 22nd on baseball's all-time list in games (908)...his 83 appearances in 1996 rank second on Twins all-time single-season list and 79 appearances in 1998 are tied for fourth.
